Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella

By: Laura Anne Miller

The Fearless Theatre Productions transports you to the magical world of Rodgers & Hammerstein in their production of Cinderella.

The show opens with a breathtaking forest background as we meet Cinderella (Anabelle Tayon), who is introduced by the Fairy Godmother (Hannah Machado). We meet the cruel Stepmother (Lex Alden), and her just as cruel daughters Grace (Wendy Thibodeau) and Joy (Isabelle Hatmaker). As the show progresses, many colorful characters, both human and animal, round out the world of Cinderella. This is a traditional telling of Cinderella, with some changes throughout the story.

True to the original story, Cinderella ventures to the kingdom to attend the Prince’s ball with the help of her fairy godmother. Once at the ball, Cinderella meets Prince Christopher (Rex Bierman). As the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella must flee, losing her glass slipper in the process. Prince Christopher finds it and uses it to locate his true love.

This production has amazing vocals (Cast and Musical Director Mr. Tim), exquisite costumes (Robin Noah and team), and beautiful choreography (Dr. TJ Heck). The set (Eric Johnson and team) was simple, but well suited for the size of the production. The casting (Director Barbie Highfield and Asst. Director Alphonse Buclay) for this show was spot on.

Special moments that stood out included: the pumpkin magically transforming into the coach. It was an amazing spectacle. The reveal of Cinderella’s dress transforming into the ball gown was incredible to watch. Vocals by Anabelle Tayon (Cinderella), Hannah Machado (Fairy Godmother), Prince Christopher (Rex Bierson) were wonderful. Wendy Thibodeau (Grace) and Isabelle Hatmaker (Joy) brought humor and were very funny. This cast was all together amazingly talented and is a must see show!

Overall, this is a beautifully done show and a definite must see! However, there is only one more opportunity to see this magical show before it turns back into a pumpkin. The final show is at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

This show runs September 25-September 27th, 2026. For tickets, visit www.fearlesstheatreproductions.ludus.com

9 to 5 The Musical-Clio Cast and Crew, Inc.

Image
By: Marshall Summers Judy (Kristen Rossiter), Violet (Melanie Kratz) and Doralee (AshLeigh Kreiner) are three female coworkers who are fed up with their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical boss, Frank Hart, Jr (Eric Lewis Johnson).  Together, they conspire to get back at their boss and take over their company. This musical is based on the book by Patricia Resnick, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and is based on the 1980 hit movie.  The set was very interesting (Set Design and Construction, Travis Palmer). At first, it appears to be a boring beige hallway of an office building - which is what it is supposed to be. Throughout the show, the side panels were moved out and turned around to reveal another set piece. One side completes Hart's office and the other is a bathroom. There is also an elevator that "works". At one point a whole bed is pulled down from a panel on the stage. You would have never guessed there was a bed hiding behind a sign.  Sometimes when...
